The Eames Plastic Armchairs were first presented as part of a New York Museum of Modern Art competition, “Low Cost Furniture Design”. Their organically shaped plastic seat shells were later combined with various different bases and manufactured in their millions. In their latest version made of polypropylene, the armchairs now offer even greater sitting comfort.
The seat shell is available in 8 different colours and can be combined with either a padded or fully-upholstered seat in 13 different colours. The Plastic Armchair with powder-coated base (in dark grey) is suitable for outdoor use.
There are several bases to choose from and a wide range of individual combination possibilities – four-leg in chrome or powder-coated in grey, 'Eiffel' base with wire cross struts in chrome or powder-coated, as a rocking chair or with maple legs with black wire cross struts.
